Yichun Tantalum-Niobium Ore Concentrator

Yichun Tantalum-Niobium Concentration Plant is located in Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, China. The ore used is a granite polymetallic deposit. The raw ore contains 0.03% (Ta, Nb)2O5 (Ta: Nb=1.8:1), and the scale of the beneficiation plant is 1500t/d. The beneficiation process is a combined process of ore washing, crushing, screening, ore grinding, classification, magnetic separation, and gravity beneficiation.

After grinding the ore to -0.5mm, a combined process of magnetic separation and gravity beneficiation is used to obtain part of the tantalum-niobium concentrate. The tailings are re-grinded to -0.2mm using the gravity beneficiation process to obtain fine-grained tantalum-niobium concentrate. The tantalum-niobium concentrate contains 44.91% (Ta, Nb)2O5, and the recovery rate is 45.6%.

The Limu Tin Ore Concentrator is located in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The production scale is 1000t/d, and the ore used is a polymetallic granite deposit of tin, tantalum, niobium, and tungsten. The raw ore contains 0.0229% (Ta, Nb)2O5.

The beneficiation process includes multi-stage crushing, pre-screening, centralized sludge treatment, and grading gravity beneficiation to obtain mixed coarse concentrate. Then use the combined process of gravity beneficiation and strong magnetic separation for selection. The tantalum niobium concentrate contains 2.515% (Ta, Nb)2O5, and the recovery rate is 40%. The magnetic separation tailings are then treated by pyrometallurgical smelting.

Taimei Tantalum-Niobium Concentration Plant is located in Guangdong Province, China, and the ore used is a granite weathered crust niobium iron deposit. The raw ore contains (Ta, Nb) 2O5 0.029%. The rough separation adopts the combined process of gravity beneficiation, magnetic separation, and gravity beneficiation. The selection adopts the combined process of gravity separation, magnetic separation, electric separation, and flotation. Niobite contains 60% Nb2O5 and the recovery rate is 42.51%.

The Niobec yellow-green ore beneficiation plant is located in Quebec, Canada, and the ore used is a carbonate niobium deposit. The production scale is 2085t/d, and the raw ore contains 50.58% to 0.66% of Nb2O. It adopts a two-stage grinding-flotation-magnetic separation combined process, including grinding, desliming, carbonate mineral flotation, then desliming, magnetic separation, chrysophane flotation, and pyrite flotation. The pyrochlore concentrate is leached to dephosphorize, and the leaching slag floats sulfur. The final concentrate of pyrochlore contains 60%~62% Nb2O5.
